a bit about me

First of all, Jessamyn is my real name (pronounced "Jess-uh-min"). It's a night-blooming jasmine flower that grows in the south. Way back when, my mom read a scene in "Gone With The Wind" with Scarlett O'Hara sitting under a jessamine vine, and that was that.
Despite my Southern-inspired name, I am a 6th generation San Francisco-born Californian, and I've lived in beautiful Sonoma County my whole life. I studied fine and performing arts at Bennington College in Vermont. I learned the art and techniques of photography in college, as well as on my own, with friends, and through work at professional photo stores and labs.
I live with my husband, Devon; our 2 year old daughter, Symphony; and our silly cats in Santa Rosa, California, in the heart of Sonoma County. The North Bay is my family's favorite place in the world, and Devon and I delight in showing Symphony all of the places we grew up enjoying, as well as finding new ones to explore together.
In addition to adventuring, laughing and cuddling with my little family, my favorite things are sunshine, books, food, swimming, summertime, travel, colors, people, and photographing all of those things as often and as creatively as I can.
I have a goofy, sarcastic sense of humor, as well as a sensitivity for beauty, sweetness, and love. I work hard at my amazing job, and I thrive on doing a great job for each and every one of my clients. I believe you can see my personality in my work – not just in the weddings and portraits here, but also at www.jessamynharrisphoto.com and on my blog.

I love meeting new people, and I am always happy to set up a time to talk on the phone or in person. I look forward to getting to know you.
